In 2024, the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) achieved its highest levy collection in 32 years, amassing RM2.3 billion, up from RM2.1 billion in 2023. This increase reflects enhanced compliance among employers and improved collection mechanisms, underscoring HRD Corp's pivotal role in advancing Malaysia's human capital development.
Significantly, HRD Corp disbursed 85% of levy claims through various schemes to employers and training providers, totaling RM1.99 billion—a 31% rise from RM1.52 billion in 2023. This demonstrates HRD Corp's commitment to reinvesting collected levies into workforce training programs, benefiting contributors substantially.
Under the Human Resources Ministry's Reengineering Policy, HRD Corp has improved grant approval turnaround times from 48 hours to 24 hours, with a goal of reducing it to just one hour in 2025. Similarly, claims disbursement, previously taking 14 working days, now occurs within seven, with an aim to shorten this to three days in 2025.
These milestones highlight HRD Corp's dedication to enhancing Malaysia's talent pool by facilitating skills development and workforce readiness, ensuring Malaysian workers remain competitive in a global market.
